Tien An Men (c)1991 Michael Kerwin Breen They gathered together at Tien An Men square sometimes as many as a million there Erected a statue of liberty and dreamed of living in democracy Some say it was naivete that made them carry on that way But we all know it was the smell of freedom in the air The greatest mass of human mind that ever struck a chord in time But there were many things of which they weren't aware The regime that kept them peasant poor and kept repression at their door Was not prepared to ever give the power to the masses So brutally they crushed the cry the People's Army's people died And maintained the ruler's grip over the lower classes How many died there, in Tien An Men square?
